Extremely well-crafted 19th century rosewood secretary, the set back upper case with a pair of glazed doors decorated with slender, well-molded columns, each topped with arches centered with beautifully turned wooden discs. The cabinet interior has four nicely finished adjustable shelves. The lower cabinet has a pullout desk behind 2 drawer fronts set over three working drawers. The interior of the desk, veneered in maple or satinwood, and with a leather writing surface, has small drawers and cubby holes, the drawers with contrasting trim and the cubby holes set between beautifully turned columns. Dimensions - 41ʺW × 21ʺD × 73.5ʺH

 

Very good to excellent antique condition, with minor losses to the veneer (see 4th photo, which shows a section of veneer missing from the desk interior). Replaced leather writing surface, replaced glass. The desk height is 29"; depth of desk surface is 17 3/4"
