A rare pair of white glazed Portugese faience apothecary jars mounted as lamps. The balustrade form jars sit atop four feet on a circular base, the feet modeled after the head of what appears to be a dog, the scrolling form of the head and neck meeting the vase with acanthus leaves. The widest part of the jars is mounted on each side with the face of Hermes. The jars have been drilled and wired to be lamps and sit on nicely carved rosewood bases. These very special and rare jars show signs of their age. Please refer to the photos, which show wear and chips to the glaze.

The measurement of the jars, not including the rosewood base or lighting portions is 7" wide x 11" high. The diameter of the rosewood base is 6". The overall height is 21".
