Pen and ink drawing of the assumption of Mary Magdalene ("the Magdalene"), presented in a finely carved and gilded frame.  This subject occurs in Renaissance art, but is commonest from the late 16c.   In baroque art, the Magdalene is covered by long hair and borne by numerous angels.
